Dorothy Hawk

Dorothy L. (Wilson) Hawk, 77, died on April 7, 2024 in Wellsville OH following a lengthy illness.

Dorothy was born in East Liverpool on October 31, 1946 a daughter of the late Robert Wilson and Harriet  (Alford) Wilson.  She worked for a period at the Cape Fear Hospital in NC sterilizing surgical instruments. After moving back to the area she worked as a private caregiver. Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church in Wellsville.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting in her free time as well as listening to music, planting flowers and playing bingo. She also really loved collecting the  Willow Tree angel figurines.

Dorothy is survived by a son: Scott Hawk (Crystal) of Salineville OH; a daughter: Shannon Horne (Donald) of Beulaville NC; two brothers: Bob Wilson (Bonnie) of Salineville, Richard Wilson (Linda) of Salineville; a sister: Minnie Justice of Salineville; 10 grandchildren: Lisa Hawk of Hammondsville, Michael Wallace of Hampstead NC, Stacie Wallace- Dumm (Bryan) of Beulaville NC, Cynthia Hawk of Reidsville NC, Melissa Ireland of Reidsville NC, Rachelle Demastus of Wilmington NC, Seth Hawk of Salineville OH, Sarah Hawk of Salineville OH, Tanya Myers of Akron OH, Tommy Byers of Dalton GA and 9 Great Grandchildren: Abbigail, Jamison, Aubrie, Carter, Kyrie, Kaden, McKenzie, Trinity and Harli. Dorothy will be missed by her childhood best friend, Nancy Thomas, of Salineville.

In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Charles “Robert” Hawk Jr. whom she married March 28, 1964; two sons: James A. Hawk and  Terry Lee Hawk; two brothers: Harold Wilson and William “Bill” Wilson.

A private service was held at the convenience of the family. Dorothy was laid to rest in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
