Dorothy J. Mellott, 89, went to meet the Lord and be reunited with many family and friends who went before her. She was a lifelong resident of Salineville, OH and recently resided at Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon.
Dorothy was born in Salineville on March 14, 1933 a daughter of the late Arthur H.Wilson and Dorothy M. (Toalston) Wilson.
Dorothy married Cleo Mellott on October 31, 1952 and they remained married until his death June 10, 2007. She worked several jobs with the most years as a clerk at Shaff’s Drug Store and then at Summitville tile until her retirement.
Dorothy loved life, her family, friends and helping others. She was a special, sometimes unique, mom. Not only to her children but to many of her children's friends. She was very supportive of her children and activities in which they participated. For many years Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed boating, camping and water skiing on the Ohio River. She loved music and dancing. Dorothy loved and believed in the Lord and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace and without illness.
Dorothy is survived by a son: Terry (Brenda) Mellott of Columbiana; a daughter Kem (Leon) Dye of St Marys WV; a sister: Marlene Madison of Minerva; three grandchildren: Amy Mellott, Jamie (Amber) Mellott and Christopher Mellott; four great grandchildren: Zackary, Camryn, Rylee and Christopher Mellott; 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Cleo T “Mel” Mellott; a sister: Anna Marie Woolf; two brothers and two brothers: A. Randy Wilson and Thomas Wilson.
Services will be held at the Kerr Watson Funeral Home on Friday August 19, 2022 at 4pm.
The family will be present to receive friends from 12pm up until the time of service at 4pm on friday at the funeral home.
