Gail Thompson Obituary

Gail Thompson was born on April 10th, 1947 (in Logan County West Virginia) and passed away at home on January 3rd, 2023 (Salineville, Ohio)at the age of 75 years, a daughter of the late Ernest Strunk and Ocie (Maynard) McCowin. Grandma Gail was a big part of the community throughout the years in Lisbon and Leetonia. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Lisbon and formerly a member of the VFW in Lisbon. She was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Lisbon for many years and recently was attending services at the Kingdom Hall in Lisbon. A lot of people know her from Value King, Sparkle Market and Starlight Video all formerly located in Lisbon as well as American Standard in Salem. Grandma was known and loved by many and was in several clubs and programs throughout the years including Needles and Hooks. She leaves behind a twin brother, Dale Strunk and three children, Larry Johnson, Dean Johnson and Michelle Johnson and 4 children through marriage (whom she loved as her own) including Vicki Charlton, Velvet Bratt, Tracy Knecht, and Brenda Jones and her grandchildren Ashley Jackson, Miranda Johnson, Tiffany Parish, Brittany Johnson, Brian Johnson, Larry Johnson, Dean Johnson, and Mariah Johnson and great-grandchildren Olivia and Ava Jackson, Ryder Macuich, Sawyer Hill and Gabriella Parish as well as grandchildren through marriage including Jerry, Danielle, Julia, Alex, Brittany, Josh, Kenneth and Iridian as well as great-grandchildren through marriage Andrew, Steven, Josephine, Lily, Jack, Cole and Adeline, and lastly her beloved dog Ellie May. She is preceded in death by her son Brian Johnson and her husband Daniel Thompson (whom she married in 1991).

No visitation or services have been planned as per Gail’s wishes.  The Kerr Watson Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
