Howard William Ketchum

Howard William Ketchum, 71, of Salineville died on January 27, 2023 at Select Specialty in Boardman OH following a lengthy  illness.

Howard was born in Salineville on December 14, 1951 a son of the late George Ketchum and Mary “Betty”(Barnby) Ketchum.

Having lived his life in the area Howard was a graduate of Southern Local High School Class of 1970. He worked at Crucible Steel until 1982, then was an owner/operator truck driver until his retirement. 

He loved hunting, fishing, camping and learning about survival tactics and in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed watching live concerts on TV and was a christian by faith. He was a caring and loving man who put his family first. Words cannot explain what they meant to him. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a great listener and gave great advice. He was very grateful for his sister Mary and brother-in-law, Bill Young and his niece, Beth Kidder who helped tremendously at the house and got him what he needed. He will forever be in our hearts and missed greatly.

Left to cherish his memory are a daughter: Angel Reed (Heath) of East Liverpool; two sons: Shane Ketchum (Christina) of North Port FL, Todd Ketchum of Salineville; a sister: Mary Young (Bill) of Salineville; Grandchildren: Peyton Reed, Brooke, Abbie, Madison, and Sawyer Ketchum; Great Grandchildren: Kason Ketchum, Emersyn Carlin, Holland Gibson and two sisters-in-law: Sandy and Debbie Ketchum as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Howard was preceded in death by three brothers: George, Bruce and Albert Ketchum and two sisters:Betty Jane Cumberledge and Linda Ketchum.

Services will be held on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 7pm at the Kerr Watson Funeral Home in Salineville with Pastor Pat Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5pm up until the time of service at 7pm.
