Matthew Watson

Matthew Watson

Owner-Funeral Director/Embalmer

Matthew Watson has served the communities of Columbiana County as a Funeral Director, Embalmer and Pre Arrangement Specialist for the past 15 years.  Born and raised in East Liverpool, he graduated from  East Liverpool High School Class of 2000. He  then graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 2006 and Point Park University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Specialized funeral Service with a focus on Environmental Health and a minor in Psychology.

 Matthew has completed several specialized programs. In 2012 to become a Certified Preplanning Consultant and in 2018 to become a Certified Funeral Celebrant.

He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Embalmers Association and the Ohio Funeral Directors Association.

Matthew loves giving back to the community. He is a proud Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 41. He is a member of the Southern Columbiana County Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge 258, the Wellsville Sons of Italy #657, Wellsville Chamber of Commerce  and the Wellsville Historical Society, where he was named trustee in 2013.

In 2013, he coordinated an event at the Wellsville River Museum to commemorate the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War. He coordinated with the Batesville Casket Company to display a  replica of President Abraham Lincoln.

Matthew Co-Chaired the Morgan Raid Committee, which planned an event at the Wellsville River Museum honoring the 150th Anniversary of John Hunt Morgan’s Longest Raid.

Matthew is an avid cyclist. In 2020 he completed both the Great Allegheny Passage and the C and O Canal bike trails which run from Washington DC to Pittsburgh PA.

Matthew is also a proud Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop 41. He has served as past Troop Committee Chairman. He was a member of Seven Ranges Camp Staff in 03 and 04. He has additionally ran several district camps and has chaired committees at the district level.

Matthew lives in East Liverpool with his three daughters. He has coached Youth Soccer and Volleyball. He enjoys playing the drums, backpacking, camping, cycling, outdoor cooking and board games.
